Dental Technology in Phoenix, AZ
At Stephanie K. Dentistry, we use the latest technology to ensure a productive and comfortable experience. All of our patient records are stored electronically, making it quicker and easier to review your files. We also use text and email reminders for appointments, as well as iPads in the waiting areas for a quick check-in. Once you are in the chair, we use advanced technology and equipment, to improve procedures and better care for your needs.
If a tooth is structurally damaged past the point of a dental filling, a dental crown may be the next-best option. This can traditionally be a lengthy process that requires multiple visits. A molded impression is taken and sent to a dental laboratory where technicians create the crown. At Stephanie K. Dentistry, we use a 3M scanner to offer same-day dental crowns. A 3M scanner helps us create a 3D digital impression of your tooth. We use this digital impression to design and manufacture a restoration in-office, the same day of the procedure. The 3M scanner has drastically improved our access to molars and other posterior (back) teeth.

Most of our adult dental cleanings require the use of an ultrasonic scaler. This device uses ultrasonic vibrations and a cleaning solution to break down plaque and calculus on your teeth. Ultrasonic scalers have a smaller tip than manual scalers. The small tip can increase comfort and clean hard-to-reach pockets underneath the gums that contain bacteria. By killing these microbes, we can reduce and prevent your chances of getting periodontal disease or gingivitis. Ultrasonic scalers also require less pressure than traditional scalers and cause minimal or no damage to the enamel or root. This is ideal for patients who have sensitive teeth or gums.

Digital X-rays are used to give us a clear and complete view of your bone structure. We use X-rays to help identify any oral health problems you may have, as well as prevent future issues. The digital era has given us instantaneous results. We no longer have to wait for the film to develop, and we can immediately retake an X-ray if necessary. We can also share your results with other dentists or specialists digitally, reducing costs and expediting the process. Digital X-rays require 1/5 the radiation of traditional X-ray film. Patients who need regular X-rays, no longer need to worry about radiation exposure.

At Stephanie K. Dentistry, we pride ourselves on provided excellent patient education. That is why we use intra-oral cameras. Intra-oral cameras are the shape and size of a toothbrush. They record and project a video of your mouth, giving you a clear view of what Dr. Kethcart sees. We can show you decay, fractured teeth, broken fillings, or any other problem, to help improve your awareness and give immediate feedback. With a clear understanding of your dental needs, we can decide together, which treatment option is best for you.
